<p>Very little is known about Jac McAnelly. The earliest items among his
papers are photographs taken in the early 20th century in Brooklyn; other
materials in the collection indicate that the family later lived in
Bloomington, Illinois. The Internet Movie Database (imdb.com) indicates that
McAnelly worked in films and television, primarily in production and costume
design, from approximately 1973 until at least 1987. The films on which he
		worked include
	 <title render="italic">Your Three Minutes Are Up</title> (1973),
	 <title render="italic">Devil Times Five</title> and
	 <title render="italic">Big Bad Mama</title> (1974),

	 <title render="italic">Flicks</title> and
<title render="italic">Voyage of the Rock Aliens</title> (costume designer

	 <title render="italic">Alice</title> (1976 and 1977),

	 <head>Scope and Content of Collection</head>
<p>The collection consists of the papers of Jac McAnelly for the period
circa 1920-1985. The correspondence dates from 1980-1985 and is primarily
between McAnelly and his sometime lover, model and erotic film actor Gene
Carrier (aka Johnny Harden), whom he appears to have met on the set of the film

	 <title render="italic">Lady in Red</title> (1979), on which McAnelly served
as production designer and Carrier had a small part, either uncredited or under
another name. The color and black &amp; white photographs include family
photographs circa 1920-1950, a contact sheet and negatives of extracts from a
book on historical buildings of Bloomington, Illinois, a modeling portfolio of
Carrier, including two photographs with Andy Warhol, and one signed photograph
of Jim Steele. The creative works include a screen play,
<title render="italic">The Master of the Discipline</title>, by McAnelly
and Michael Zen from 1984, two drawings by McAnelly from the September 1972
	 issue of
<title render="italic">Tiger Beat</title>. The last two items are
McAnelly's working script of Robert Patrick's
	 <title render="italic">Kennedy's Children</title> and a clipping from the
Illinois State University newspaper circa 1980.</p>
