Includes material related to the Nob Hill Neighbors and Pacific Heights Association campaigns against city zoning laws, which allowed construction of high-rise apartment complexes in those neighborhoods. Also includes materials pertaining to an unsuccessful campaign in 1969 by several local groups to bring about a charter amendment to revise the city charter. With these are materials from other local campaigns, including the 1973 Yes on 
                <emph render="doublequote">C</emph> Open Spaces/Recreation ballot Proposition.</abstract>

		  <bioghist id="ref14">
            <head>Corporate History</head>
            <p>Campaign Data Service, Inc., organized in 1970 and in operation through 1980, was a San Francisco based firm specializing in political campaign services. Headed by political consultants Diene Bull and Audrey Rodgers, the nonpartisan firm provided planning and advising for all phases of political campaigning. Services included the production of campaign materials and demographic research aids for both local and state-wide campaigns.</p>

            <head>Scope and Content</head>
            <p>Campaign Data Service, Inc. Records consist of materials relating to campaigns managed by Campaign Data Service, Inc. for individual candidates and local initiatives from 1964 to 1979. Divided into two series, the collection includes correspondence, campaign literature, press releases, speeches, research reports, opinion surveys, agreements, maps, census tract data, address listings, newspaper clippings, and other records.</p>
            <p>The first series, Candidate Files, includes material relating to Wilson Riles' race for California State Superintendent of Schools in 1970, Dianne Feinstein's 1971 mayoral campaign, San Francisco County Sheriff and Supervisorial races, and campaigns for positions on the San Francisco School Board and BART Board.</p>
            <p>The second series, Initiative Campaigns and Organizational Files, contains materials regarding a number of local initiatives and proposals. Included are records from campaigns mounted by two local organizations, Nob Hill Neighbors and the Pacific Heights Association, aimed at restricting the construction of high-rise apartment complexes in their neighborhoods. Additional materials relate to charter amendment, district election, and 
                <emph render="doublequote">Open Space</emph> campaigns. Reports regarding a San Francisco public education desegregation initiative and organizational proposals for SF Info, a nonprofit information services organization, are also included.</p>
